A boiler is not the most exciting household item, but it is one of most important. It makes your home warm so that you can take a hot bath each morning and relax in the tub in the evening.
With so many boilers to choose from, how can you find the right one for you?
There are three main types. Understanding the benefits of each is crucial to help you choose the right one for your home.
Combi boilers
Combi boilers are small and can often be placed inside a cupboard. They heat water on demand from mains, ensuring a powerful shower.
Combi boilers work well in small to medium-sized houses because they don’t require separate hot water storage tanks or hot water cylinders. However, they are not recommended for households with more than one bath or shower running at once. They may not be able handle the demand.
Combi boilers heat upon demand. This makes them both eco-friendly as well as economically viable.
Regular boilers
These new boiler Bromley are also called heat-only or conventional boilers. They are designed for big households that use large amounts of hot water in multiple areas of the house simultaneously. They need a hot-water cylinder and a cold water storage container, which are usually stored in the loft. The tank’s size limits the hot water supply, so you will need to wait for it refill.
Regular boilers work well in homes that have a traditional central heating system or hot water system. This is because older systems are unable to cope with the pressure of water coming from the mains. System and combi boilers offer this option.
For homes with lower pressure mains water, regular boilers are recommended. Because gravity naturally raises water pressure when the water travels from its storage tank to the point where it is needed.
Boilers system
Systems boilers heat water and store it separately in a hot water tank. System boilers aren’t required to have a cold storage tank. They can however handle more than one bathroom at a time, unlike regular boilers.
