Slushing
Slushies, also known as Icee or Slushee, are drinks made from flavored pulverized water. A slushie is different from other frozen drinks in that it does not freeze into blocks or cubes. Instead, the ice remains as small icy crystals. Most alcohol drink manufacturers require users to place ice cubes in the machine to make slushies. However, the slushie maker uses water to make the icy slush. The freezing power of commercial models is not available to small home slushee machines. To make home drinks, crushed ice must also be used. These drinks do not have the same consistency as store-bought. Turn on the machine to churn and place the water in it. The basic slush can be made in 30-60 minutes depending on how big the machine is and what size container it holds.
Slush Maintaining
Due to their high use from customers, most modern commercial slushies are kept in a metal cabinet. However, some models keep the drink in a glass or plastic container. These can be dispensed by employees, and are subject to less abuse than metal models. It includes a compressor as well as a sealed cooling tube. The auger can remove any moist slush that may have accumulated on the side or top of the cylinder. Double the number of components is possible in some machines that offer two flavors. To preserve the texture of the ice drink mixture, the storage area is continuously circulated by either a circular auger, or plastic mixing paddles. The thermostat allows for temperature adjustments to ensure the perfect mix. The machine’s performance is affected by outside temperature and humidity. Although fresh slush should be used every day, some establishments keep the original mixture for several more days so that the machine can continue to operate even after hours.
Flavoring
The first machines were manually operated and crushed the ice. After that, the operator added flavor syrup to the drink as it was being placed in a glass or paper cup. Modern machines add syrup to the ice, usually with neon-colored additives, so it can be dispensed in ready-to drink form. The syrup is mixed in a container or bottle and added to a predetermined amount of water. The mixture is mixed by shaking the bottle. Finally, the mixture is poured into the opening at the top or back of the machine. The cooling cylinder is filled with the fluid and the icing begins. Modern machines sell the mixture through an opening at the front of the machine that is operated by a valve.
