Creating a comfortable office space is a high priority on the business list, but have you thought about the breakout areas?
When the office isn’t in use, your employees need a calming, comfortable area to relax and recharge. An area that’s suitable for break, lunches, informal meetings and collaborative working is a great place to start.
As with most office design it starts with the furniture you choose, which then shapes the room and the overall feel. Creating the right setting is incredibly important, as when your staff are working hard, you need to reward them with a modern and enjoyable atmosphere which enables them to relax and rest their mind.
If you’re not sure how to do this – we have some fantastic suggestions.
Seating
Adding seating sounds like a standard requirement, doesn’t it?
But as you do your research, you’ll find there’s a seating option for different purposes.
Take the sofa or low seating, with a comfortable design and slouchy feel, the sofa brings the best home comfort into the office space. A great choice within a TV room, a communal break area and encourages conversation and bonding.
High stools can still be comfortable but betray a slightly more professional finish. High bar stools and tables are great for taking some time out, putting your headphones and taking a breather on your own. Whilst still suitable for teams, a great solo option for those who want some quiet time.
Telephone Pods
Most offices have a no phone rule, so when the clock strikes 12 and it’s time to have lunch, out comes the phone. A large volume of our time is spent at work, so when important conversations need to happen, breaks and lunches may be the only available option.
This is where the phone pods or booths are incredibly useful. Not only are they stylish and contemporary but add a private booth for you to use at your leisure.
Office Storage
Storage facilities within an office are a must, especially when you have large employee numbers. Providing storage cupboards and lockers eliminates any coats or bags being left around, keeping the environment tidy.
The environment needs to be visitor and meeting ready at all times.
Offering storage facilities also means bags and belongings don’t have to be carried around all day, making it easy and keeping personal items safe and locked away.
